Infectious diseases are caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi or parasites. These diseases can be transmitted through multiple sources, including insects, animals, food and water.

The infectious disease doctors at Mission Health Physicians are experts in diagnosing and treating infections. In addition to prescribing and administering oral and intravenous (IV) antibiotics, they provide pre-travel vaccinations and post-travel evaluations.

Conditions we do not treat

Although we are equipped and trained to treat many different conditions, there are some chronic conditions we actually do not treat, including:

  • Chronic Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Chronic parasites
  • Delusions of parasitosis
